A large-scale brucellosis control programme targeting the eradication of the disease has not been adopted in Sri Lanka. The project is combining a systematic review of published and unpublished literature with a cost-benefit analysis to formulate evidence-based recommendations to guide government policy on enhancing brucellosis control in Sri Lanka. Key organisations for this project include the Epidemiology Unit within the Ministry of Health, the Department of Animal Production and Health within the Ministry of Livestock and Rural Community Development, and the University of Colombo. Other organisations that are collaborating with the project are the the Veterinary Research Institute, the University of Peradeniya, and the Canadian Food Safety Group.
